The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a recreational hiking and backpacking trail that starts at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway on the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota and winds its way for over 1,000 miles across Wisconsin to Potawatomi State Park in Door County. The Ice Age Trail Corridor passes through the west side of Dane County from Lodi Marsh in the Town of Dane to the Brooklyn State Wildlife Area in the Town of Montrose. The trail traverses the terminal moraine of Dane County's last glacier, passing through oak savannas, prairies, and oak, hickory, and maple forests.

Dane County Parks, in cooperation with the Ice Age Trail Alliance, offers several properties that feature completed trail sections of the corridor, including:

• Indian Lake County Park
• Ice Age Junction Natural Resource Area
• Ice Age Reserve Wildlife Area
• Ice Age Trail Table Bluff Segment
• Prairie Moraine County Park
• Springfield Hill Natural Resource Area

Dispersed Camping Rules

• For use by multi-day Ice Age Trail hikers only
• Camp within sight of this dispersed camping sign
• Maximum of six people in this camping area
• One night only
• No fires except for backpacking stoves
• Leave no trace of your visit
• Wash yourself and dishes 200’ from water
• Dispose of human and pet waste in 6” cathole if no facility is provided
