Camping and Group Camping

Important Information for 2021 (subject to change):

  • All camping registrations/reservations must be made online or by calling our office during regular business hours (608) 224-3730.
  • All PHMDC regulations regarding COVID-19 in effect on the day of your reservation MUST be followed and supersede any of the plans submitted when your reservation was approved.
  • Parks staff will only provide services to groups that are following PHMDC guidelines.
  • If you decide to change your reservation due to COVID, our regular cancellation and change policy and fees apply.

 

Camping funDane County Parks has campsites that can be reserved for tents, campers, and RVs. All campsite reservations include a complimentary daily dog permit good for the duration of your stay. Please visit our Dogs in Parks page for more information about this permit.

Individual Campsites

Dane County offers campsites at five different parks. Each campground has an accessible site and offers electric sites. Campsite check in begins at 3:00 p.m. the first day of the reservation and check out is no later than 3:00 p.m. on the last day of the reservation. There is a maximum of 6 people and one tent or RV per campsite.

Reserve a Campsite

Group Campsites

Group campsites are larger, rustic (pit toilets and water) areas where a larger group of campers may camp together. Group campsites are intended for tent camping only. Reservations are required. There is no minimum stay requirement but there is a maximum stay of 14 days. Group campsites are popular with youth groups and family/friend events.  Please contact the Parks Office at (608) 224-3730 to make a group campsite reservation.
