Event Description
Enjoy the outdoors, learn about the natural world, and forge new friendships by joining the Friends of Donald Park on a restoration workday. This winter, we are clearing invasive brush from a new oak woodland restoration site. This is a major project that will greatly improve wildlife and plant habitat. We will also cast seed on sites that have been under restoration for the last couple of years. There is lots to do and we can use your help! We work in teams and no experience is necessary.
What to wear: Old clothes, sturdy shoes, and garden or leather gloves if you have them. (We have some to lend out.)
What to bring: Please bring water. We will provide tools and cookies.
Details: Meet at Hitchcock Farmstead, 1870 Sutter Drive, Springdale. Please arrive at 12:45 pm to check in.
RSVP to the work party leader, Liz McBride, at elizabeth-mcbride@sbcglobal.net by the Friday before the workday so we have enough tools on hand and she can reach you if weather forces us to cancel.
