Nine Springs Marsh Bird Walk - Friends of Capital Springs

Event Description
Join the Friends for the first Capital Springs bird walk of spring! Migrating ducks and other waterfowl can be seen from lagoon dikes this time of year, and wooded areas may reveal early spring wood warblers. Raptors are observed throughout the area as well. All ages are welcome, and families are encouraged to attend.
Where: Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District’s Wildlife Observation Area and Nine Springs Marsh
Date: Saturday, April 17, 9am – 11am
Meeting Place: Lewis Nine Springs E-Way trailhead parking lot, 1947 Moorland Road, Madison, 53711
Walk Leader: Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area’s naturalist, Clare Carlson
Signup: Please email the number of people in your group to Clare (carlson.clare@countyofdane.com). Maximum attendance is 30 people.
Equipment: Bring a pair of binoculars. Spotting scopes can be set up along the lagoon dikes.
Covid-19 Safety: Face coverings are strongly recommended outdoors when six feet spacing cannot be maintained. For more information, please see the Dane County order with guidance below.
Inclement Weather Policy: If the walk must be cancelled, attendees will be emailed by 8am on April 17.
